Tuesday Tags: I Could Never Quit
Posted on Tuesday, March 11, 2014

I  haven't really been doing anything too interesting lately to blog about (story of a 9-5), so hopefully you will enjoy another tag that I've linked up from Morgan of Believe in Sparks. I think I'm going to make Tuesdays my tag days. (Or idk. Brain fart!)

Today, I'm numbering things I could never quit. There are far too many but I'll pick out the most accurate ;)

1) Coffee and Carbs.
I'm on a 9-lb streak, give me that. But I found myself fitnesspal-ing like a maniac just to get away with my daily Starbucks and Panera fix. I'm sorry, gotta have carbs to start my day...sometimes.

2) Make Up!
On average, I buy about $20 worth of make-up weekly. I know, I know...I know this! It's a terrible, uncontrollable addiction. But I chose to give this up for Lent, let's see how I do in the next 40 days.

3) Happy Hour
Ok this one, I just can't give up. After work, stress at home, and just Juan Pablo giving us all a damn headache, a good happy hour is a must. I usually go for sushi and mojitos, Roy's just outside of the Vegas strip is a great venue! Some of my favorites are Blue Martini, Yardhouse, and Kona Grill. You can never go wrong with half priced fish and alcohol!

4) Losing Weight
Like I said, I'm on a 9---hopefully going 10---pound losing streak. I'm not a gym or an exercising person at all. I'll be lying to you if I said, OMGEE I love cardio! Nope. I'd rather lift, squad, and do calisthenics for some reason. But a girl's gotta do what she gotta do! Maid of Honor? Check. Bridesmaid? Check. Cruise in January? Uhh, yeah!!! She is on a mission!

5) Texting and Social Network
Working in the technology world doesn't help much either. I'm either in front of a computer or a tablet or a phone, ALLLL day. No exaggeration. It's part of my job to know the latest in technology, hardware and software alike, and what's going on with Justin Bieber. I love to instagram, almost everything I see, eat, and do (terrible habit) and I live tweet during the Kardashians. I thought about giving this up for Lent, but man, I don't think Jesus needs a new angel just yet!

6) Dallas
I love Dallas. I consider it my second home, home away from home, second family, you already know. I left some of the greatest friends and best memories from years back. If I could relive some of the unforgettable years of my life, it would definitely be the ones in Texas.

There you go! If you stumble upon here, thanks for reading, and make sure you head over to Morgan's blog and link yourself up!

Sunday Social: Pinterest Edition
Posted on Sunday, March 9, 2014

This is my first time participating in Sunday Social. I'm so excited! Thanks, Ashley.

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?

I'm not big on fancy clothing but I do buy quality clothes, shoes, and accessories that I can use over and over again, and would last me for years. This particular ensemble is the closest I could pair up to my daily style, especially during the fall and not-so-winter winter here in Nevada. Outfit details found HERE.

2. What is your favorite food pin?

Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai by Chris of Shared Appetite.

3. What is your favorite wedding pin?

What a cheaper and more creative way than a Photo Booth! #noted thanks, StyleMePretty.com!

4. What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?

DIY earring rack courtesy of Lauren of Calico Skies. So chic, creative, and thrifty! I love it!

5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?

Found from Zulily.hardpin.com

6. Share one random pin you love.

If my personality was morphed into a living room, it would look exactly like this. [via Vivid Hue Home]

Well that was fun! Can't wait to do more of these cute and trendy tags. Now off to see everyone's favorite pins.

And Another One Bites The Dust
Posted on Saturday, March 8, 2014

My friend of 15 long years moved to San Diego to be with the love of her life after merely four months of dating. Before even hitting the year mark, they are now engaged to be married in September. Yeah sure, in the beginning I had my doubts, and I was scared for her. But I guess it's true when they say "when you know, you just know." I knew when I met him he would take care of my girl, not to mention, I have never seen her happier with anyone else.

Er'goes another invite to a wedding. Kai reallllly needs to lose weight now.

She drew this, freehand! How awesome, right? How could I say no!

Another wedding, another planning. The couple will most likely bring the wedding here in Vegas, hence I was put in charge of finding a venue, and helping the bride with a bunch of stuff. Unlike my other friend (whose wedding I'll be Maid of Honor of), Kim is thrifty and she insists of having a small, intimate, backyard wedding with sundress, summer bbq-ing type of food, and everything DIY. You can tell, she's pretty crafty! And what better way to celebrate her creativity and Jake's (he's a tattoo artist too, geez, talk about artsy people) by creating a personalized wedding instead of the yawnfest traditional shit.

Talking weddings definitely take me back to a different place. Sometimes I wish I was not too selfish, maybe I'd be planning the same future as we speak. But nope, this girl kinda wants to be successful someday and at 27, I definitely took the time to figure shit out. Oh well, it will come when it comes. Why rush now anyway when I have two other weddings to plan?

The 86th Academy Awards
Posted on Sunday, March 2, 2014

Ok, I try to not really talk about pop culture in this blog but my love for movies just has to do it. I do it almost every year when I predict who will win vs. who I actually want to win (not that my opinion changes anything). But just for kicks, and if you are a movie enthusiast as well, chime in on these predictions, why don't ya.

I didn't come close to seeing all the Best Picture nominees, but I chose the ones I felt worth spending $11 for (although there seems to be a clear favorite). I saw The Wolf of Wall Street, Her, Dallas Buyers Club, 12 Years A Slave, and now watching Gravity as we speak. Based on all these, here are my daring predictions for tonight:

Who I want to win:

Best Picture: 12 Years A Slave
Best Director: Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity
Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio, The Wolf of Wall Street
Best Actress: Sandra Bullock, Gravity
Best Supporting Actor: Jared Leto, Dallas Buyers Club
Best Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years A Slave

Who will win:

Best Picture: 12 Years A Slave
Best Director: Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity
Best Actor: Matthew McConaughey, Dallas Buyers Club
Best Actress: Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine
Best Supporting Actor: Jared Leto, Dallas Buyers Club
Best Supporting Actress: Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years A Slave

I've changed it so many times, my goodness! This may be the tightest race I've ever seen. But I am ready! I have my sweats on, my TV set to tune at 5:30, and my soup is cooking pretty soon. It will be a cold, comfortable night for me, watching the Oscars, of course! I reckon it is pretty cold everywhere so stay safe, cuddle up, and have a good night!
