I'm going crazy right now. I think it's the combination of coffee I had this morning, the snicker bar I had for lunch, the redbull I had this afternoon, and the flan I had for dinner. Really bad choices, K. Very bad!

Besides the overdosage of stimulants, it's also that time of the month. Multiply that by 10 because of a very tense work essay I had to finish by tonight, and it was also results night for American Idol. Everything is coming down ALL AT ONCE!

Yes, I'm ranting. But if you're a female reading this, you should know exactly how I feel this very moment. It's terrible! I don't wanna go to work, I wanna go to a beach and meditate, I want to be far far away by myself. Maybe I should book a ticket to Barbados too and call it a night. The girl on this video is ME right now. On point.

On your day off...
Posted on Tuesday, March 12, 2013

I have promised myself I will stop and avoid staying in bed, laying around, being lazy on my days off. I used to front my 40-hour work weeks as an excuse to bum for 48 hours, but I noticed that for losing weight, that is NOT a good idea---took me a while to realize that ;p so for the past few weeks, I made sure that my days off didn't go to waste. I found tricks to help me get off my feet and here are a few of my favorites.

1. Put on your running shoes.
I don't care if I'm only going to the mall, do groceries, my laundry or the movies. Wearing running shoes makes me feel like I have to be active, or be on the move all the time. Along with that, put on some work out clothes. Cute sweats, yoga pants, or a hoodie. Even if you're not in the gym, make whatever you're doing a workout.

2. Plan a date.
If you're not feeling the sweatsuit and want to get dressed up on your day off (which I don't blame you for), plan a date with your other half. When my boyfriend and I don't feel like doing something, we go by the lake and walk around. Nature is the best thing to see at anytime of any season. Take the air in and enjoy the intimate moments. (If outdoors are not your thing, try the mall or the shooting range. Just something for the two of you to enjoy without staying in bed all day.)

3. Look for an activity.
In line with shooting guns or window shopping, an activity with a friend, your man, or the girls should always be in the list. What I have done recently is redecorate my room, which included shopping at Hobby Lobby, and researching DIY artworks on Pinterest. That addicting website has a gazillion of DIY's, you will want to have a vacation doing nothing but. I'm sure there's an activity out there for you. Hint: start with spring cleaning ;)

4. Get your chores done.
I know 40 hour weeks make you lazy when it comes to chores. Don't lie to yourself, you HAVE seen your sink full of dirty dishes, your hamper with dirty clothes, and your pantry completely empty. That's what your days off are for. Complete these tasks before you go another week without food or socks.

5. Visit your family or old friends.
I love going to my parents' house on my days off. It always feels like home, of course. You see your coworkers more than you see your family and that's a sad fact. Make them feel special by visiting or staying the night---water your mom's plants, help your dad wash the cars, or pack your little brother/sister's lunch. A full time career shouldn't make you neglect your family, or any loved one for that matter.

Time is something you can't replace so make the most out of it. Make your days off worth while by creating experiences for your well being, your surroundings, and the people and things you care about. Carpe Diem! :)
