4am...
Posted on Wednesday, July 23, 2008

It's been a while since I slept earlier than midnight. I initially thought that it was just my bodyclock acting all bitchy from all the traveling, but I've been stagnant at home for about a month now and nothing seemed to change! Also, for the past couple of days I have been sleeping on or minutes after 4am. The first night was excusable. My cousin, a family friend, and I went to a salsa club (shameless plug: pictures here =P), and obviously the adrenaline (even from just driving them all over the town) kept me up for a while. Then last night, I had a test the morning after, I was therefore procrastinating until, yep, 4am. And here we go again... it's exactly 3:55 as I'm typing this. Oops. 3:56. So does this mean I only have 4 minutes left 'til I get knocked out??

How is it that I'm presently a "medical" student yet I don't know what's happening with my body. OMG! Is that you, insomnia?? Fuck off! I'm over you! I've moved on! Leave me alone!!!

Color Blind
Posted on Saturday, July 19, 2008

I was on my way home from Dallas taking the regular route I go through whenever I bring my mom to work and back. Normally, I would take a left at Northwest HWY from Harry Hines but when I saw those dreadful double red arrows, I quickly changed lanes thinking that I would make it home in a shorter time if I went straight and took Royal lane. But just when I was about to make a hoorah at the gas pedal, my brother yelled "REEEED!!!!" as I frighteningly stopped... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. ON A RED LIGHT. Oh, and it doesn't stop there! There were cameras all over the place!! This is it... I'm officially a criminal!

So what does a dumbass do? A) cover her mouth in shock (while still in the middle of the fucking intersection!), b) apologize to the neighboring cars who THANKS-BE-TO-GOD didn't hit her ass, and c) take the car out of the way. Seriously... what was I thinking???

Obviously, I will be getting a ticket soon. Now what I want to know is if this will affect my previously clean driving record and if my insurance will mercilessly punish me. Commuting geniuses, help!!! And what sucks harder? I don't have a job right now! What do I pay the freaking ticket with?? Um.. does the government take VISA?? Just kidding.

iPhone vs. Blackberry
Posted on Monday, July 14, 2008

Misty: Hey Kai its Misty I just got a new phone save this number k?
ME: Woot! New phone! I hope it's not the iPhone 'cuz I'm gonna be so jealous!
Misty: Oh it is! I stood last night for 12 hours just for this...ugh the hassle!
ME: OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!

It would be a shame to let go of my ever-reliable Blackberry. We've been together for more than a year! But I just feel like iPhone is my destiny... OMG. I totally forgot that I'm jobless... *pedals back to reality*

Gloom and Greatness
Posted on Monday, July 7, 2008

If you weren't watching Wimbledon Sunday---where the best tennis match EVER took place---where were you? I knew it. You're still with that tramp, aren't you? Or perhaps you're out at Carl's Jr. chewing a disgusting bite of that six-dollar burger. Geez... didn't I tell you that Tennis can and will save our lives???

But anyway... After nearing five hours of grueling ground strokes, three excruciating rain delays, and an incredible dose of unbearable nervousness down to my vagigags... Ladies and scums of the earth, I present to you the new heavyweight champion of the tennis world...

The 2008 Wimbledon Champion and my future sperm donor, Rafael Nadal.

Kidding aside, I look up to Rafa not only because he's an out-of-this-world kind of tennis player. His attitude on and off the court, his overflowing humility, and respect for everybody around him (including a psycho fan like me) make him all the more idol worthy. He never talked about beating Roger Federer unless asked. He didn't even think about grabbing the no.1 ranking unless poking the thought between his eyes. All he wanted to talk about was his childhood dream finally coming true that very fortnight. And look where this goodboy's teeth landed. Right on the cusp of that glaring trophy.

Sure, numbers still suggest that Federer remains the top-ranked player in the world. But with Nadal closing in the gap a couple more inches, it will only be a matter of time until numbers and reality cohesively exhibit what our eyes have witnessed in that classic of a match. Truth is Roger got outsmarted, out-muscled, and outplayed. And even just for this moment, I believe that Rafa truly deserves to be considered the best tennis player in the world.
