Color Blind
Posted on Saturday, July 19, 2008

I was on my way home from Dallas taking the regular route I go through whenever I bring my mom to work and back. Normally, I would take a left at Northwest HWY from Harry Hines but when I saw those dreadful double red arrows, I quickly changed lanes thinking that I would make it home in a shorter time if I went straight and took Royal lane. But just when I was about to make a hoorah at the gas pedal, my brother yelled "REEEED!!!!" as I frighteningly stopped... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. ON A RED LIGHT. Oh, and it doesn't stop there! There were cameras all over the place!! This is it... I'm officially a criminal!

So what does a dumbass do? A) cover her mouth in shock (while still in the middle of the fucking intersection!), b) apologize to the neighboring cars who THANKS-BE-TO-GOD didn't hit her ass, and c) take the car out of the way. Seriously... what was I thinking???

Obviously, I will be getting a ticket soon. Now what I want to know is if this will affect my previously clean driving record and if my insurance will mercilessly punish me. Commuting geniuses, help!!! And what sucks harder? I don't have a job right now! What do I pay the freaking ticket with?? Um.. does the government take VISA?? Just kidding.

whoa! are you really color blind or you just didn't notice?

we "supposedly" ran a red light last year in manila too...but you know how it is here...the traffic police weaseled their way into getting 500 from us just so we can leave.

Oh, don't worry about it. RED is just merely a "suggestion" to stop. LOL.

from my experience, mistakes like that happen during last minute changes or when i'm taking a new route.

ganon tlga, it happens. ako naman, my fear is to unintentionally block an intersection kasi green nung una and then it turns red and you're left right in the middle. it happens a lot here because of congestion.

OMG! For real? Geez, isn't that unfair?! I hope it was something like that with my case, but I'm quite sure I violated the law. Yikes!

i don't think it will affect your driving record unless you hit a car. the guilty sign made me laugh.
